Biography
Tommy Malek is an award-winning theatre & film professional based out of Columbia, MD who specializes in the crafts of acting, directing, and design. They currently work as a freelance artist throughout the northeast with a range of regional production companies. Recent directing/choreography credits include The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee⁺^ (Compass Rose Theater), Spring Awakening, Agnes of God, RENT, Little Women the Broadway Musical (The Maryland Theatre Collective), 9 to 5 the Musical (Annapolis Summer Garden), The Addams Family, Cry-Baby the Musical, and Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein (Silhouette Stages). Recent/favorite acting credits include "Marvin" in Falsettos, "Tateh" in Ragtime the Musical: In Concert (Maryland Theatre Collective), "Man 3" in Putting It Together * (Colonial Players), "Emcee" in Cabaret ** (Silhouette Stages), and "Benny/Iona" in Del Shores’ Southern Baptist Sissies (Spotlighters Theatre). Tommy was most recently awarded the honor of "Best Supporting Actor in a Feature Film" for his work in William Rush's GROUP at The Crown Point International Film Festival in Chicago.
